American Packaging Corporation is a privately held company with over one hundred years of experience in the manufacture of flexible packaging specifications.

| 1902 | American Bag & Paper was founded by the Kardon Family as a specialized bag company in Philadelphia, PA |
| 1966 | Acquires Northern Packaging obtaining extrusion capabilities in Rochester, NY |
| 1969 | Stanley Schottland becomes President/CEO |
| 1972 | Acquires Ameripak expanding into rotogravure printing in Columbus, WI |
| 1982 | Company renamed American Packaging Corporation |
| 1982 | Acquires Interstate Folding Box, Miamisburg Paperboard, Zable Bros. and Wagerman |
| 1986 | The Schottland family purchases the company and Steve Schottland becomes President/CEO |
| 1989 | Consolidates the pre-formed products segment of its business in Story City, IA |
| 1989 | Building expansion and additional extrusion capabilities installed in Rochester, NY |
| 1994 | Building expansion and new 10 station rotogravure press lamination installed in Columbus, WI |
| 1995 | Diversifies its pre-form business by addition of pouch machines |
| 1997 | Builds a new flexographic printing facility in Story City, IA |
| 1999 | Peter Schottland becomes President/CEO |
| 1999 | Installs 9 station rotogravure press in Columbus, WI |
| 2005 | Installs custom built flexographic press with 10 stations in Story City, IA |
| 2006 | Installs custom built rotogravure press with 10 stations in Columbus, WI |
| 2006 | Adds digital plate-making capability in Story City, IA |
| 2007 | APC Center for Packaging Innovation built with donation to Rochester Institute of Technology |
| 2008 | Adds laser micro perforation capabilities in Story City, IA |
| 2008 | Board approves $11.5 Million in equipment and building expansion in Rochester, NY facility to be completed in spring 2009 |
American Packaging has been in existence since 1902 and in that time owned by only two families ( the Kardons and the Schottlands ). It has been led by five CEO's during its remarkable history ( Sam Kardon, Manny Kardon, Stan Schottland , Steve Schottland and today, Peter Schottland ).
