APC / Rochester have received an ESA Silver Award for excellence in procedures, execution and results. Approximately 5 awards are given out each year to organizations in every economic sector of the state (business, education, government, not-for-profit, health care and education).
ESA is the product of a public/private partnership formed to help New York State organizations achieve excellence to increase their contributions to both the quality of life and the business competitiveness in their communities. The program is supported by Governor Pataki, major New York based corporations, and key executives from all economic sectors throughout the state.
The Empire State Advantage emulates much of the criteria used in the Malcolm Baldridge Award, widely known in private industry. As such, it provides a framework for leading and managing an organization using up-to-date research of the best practices and success factors for each economic sector - business, education, government, healthcare, and not-for-profit. Practically speaking, it is a reference point for assessing an organization, identifying opportunities for improvement and measuring progress, from strategic planning to front line execution.
