The Rotogravure Printing and Laminating Center of Excellence of APC is located in Columbus, Wisconsin. In addition to superior rotogravure reproduction, the Center of Excellence manufactures adhesive laminations of film, paper and foil substrates.

American Packaging Corporation’s Columbus facility is an industry leader in combining in-line several substrates in one converting operation. Our multiple nine and ten station rotogravure presses are capable of in-line printing with tandem lamination of film, paper and foil substrates. The last $17.5MM equipment and facility expansion at the Wisconsin facility included a third computer-controlled, cylinder storage retrieval system, a new computer-controlled slitter and robotic material handling system, along with a custom built Rotogravure Press Laminator with a 100% defect detection system. To house the new converting equipment, 100,000 square feet of additional operating/storage space was added.
The Columbus facility also operates one of the world's largest automated cylinder handling systems. This system facilitates the fastest changeovers possible and has the capacity of storing nearly 19,000 cylinders. Additional technologies include two computerized ink dispensing systems, security-printing and laser-scoring equipment capable of both cross-direction and machine-direction scoring of shapes, contours or straight lines on a variety of substrates.show less ▲
